~I wish that I could fly fly fly away,,.

More than us - Travis

More than us
And we are them
But they don't know
Whats in their hands

Its more than you
And its more than
I but its more
And everybody calls it love
But I'm not really sure if its love
At all
Not anymore

More than he
More than she
They all sleep
But we just dream

More or less
Means more for us
But its more

And everybody wants a hand
But I'm too busy holding up the world
To carry on
No not anymore

I wish that i
Could fly fly fly away
And if I should fall
And you hear me call
Would you stay

More than us
And we are them
But they don't know
Whats in our heads

Its more than you
And its more than
I but its more

And everybody calls it love
But I'm not really sure if this is love
At all
Not anymore
Anymore
Anymore

It's just waiting for you

Meet some very old classmates recently... One classmate particularly that I meet on Facebook, it been almost 6+ years (Wow, 6 years...) since I last saw him, he currently in the US. Probably doing something c00l with his life, every time I see these people that is doing something with their life, anything... I always get depress... It's always hard to not measure myself against my friends... Envy? Self-loathing? Watever...

"~It's just waiting for you"

Whenever I hear that part, I ask myself "What is?".

Must remind myself never to get into contact with other old classmates.

~It's just waiting for you

Love Will Come Through

If I told you a secret
You won't tell a soul
Will you hold it and
Keep it alive

Cause it's burning a hole
And I can't get to sleep
And I can't live alone
In this life

So look up, take it away
Don't look da-da-da-down
The mountain

If the world isn't turning
Your heart won't return
Anyone, anything, anyhow

So take me, don't leave me
Take me, don't leave me
Baby, love will come through
It's just waiting for you

And you stand at the crossroads
Of highroads and lowroads
And I've got a feeling
It's right

If it's real what I'm feeling
There's no make believing
The sound of the wings
Of the flight

Of a dove, take it away
Don't look da-da-da-down
The mountain

If the world isn't turning
Your heart won't return
Anyone, anything, anyhow

So take me, don't leave me
Take me, don't leave me
Baby, love will come through
It's just waiting for you

Oh, look up, take it away
Don't look da-da-da-down

If the world isn't turning
Your heart won't return
Anyone, anything, anyhow

So take me, don't leave me
Take me, don't leave me
Baby, love will come through
It's just waiting for you

Love will come through
Love will come through
Love will come through

Note: Just finished Wonderfalls, didn't knew the finale had tis song as it's ending... Sure bring backs memories... And some motivation to continue forward.

Meanings!?

Meaningless in a universe that has no meaning — that I get. But meaninglessness in a universe that has meaning... what does it mean?!

~Happy Birthday to me

Wat a f*cked up way to spend my b'day. Had sex on the beach, then went to Borneo to had Ice Lemon Tea then end up flying home on a B52...

I want to live in a world where I belong

Turn - Travis

I want to see what people saw
I want to feel like I felt before
I want to see the kingdom come
I want to feel forever young
I want to sing
To sing my song
I want to live in a world where I belong
I want to live
I will survive
And I believe that it won't be very long
If we turn, turn, turn, turn, turn
Then we might learn
So where's the stars?
Up in the sky
And what's the moon?
A big balloon
We'll never know unless we grow
There's so much world outside the door
I want to sing
To sing my song
I want to live in a world where I'll be strong
I want to live
I will survive
And I believe that it won't be very long
If we turn, turn, turn, turn, turn
And if we turn, turn, turn, turn
Then we might learn
Turn, turn, turn, turn
Turn, turn, turn
And if we turn, turn, turn, turn
Then we might learn
Learn to turn

All I wanna do is RnR

Ya, having a double RnR weekend for these 2 weeks. Tis weeks the RnR means Rest N Relaxation... but last week it was a f*ckin awesome Rock N Roll!

Ok, since I thought of the double RnR gag, lets take the concept of double and up it up another notch. I'm splitting the MFR and me, rockin exploits to 2 blogs entries. One on the Singfest and another the SG trip itself. Since I can still feel "The Rock", lets kick it off with Singfest one first!?

It's already around 1+ am on this very very hot Sunday morning. The sound of music suddenly comes to a jarring stop...

"Okay everyone I want to make a deal, lets do something on the last chorus, and I need everyone cooperation, ya. I know I got everyone here but wat about people standing at the back, ya. You all up there, ya you and then the people somemore at the back ya, leaning on the... leaning on the stand... hello? Just wave if you can hear me. Do you have ears? Yes, yes, you. And up there as well, up on the veranda, Can you hear us, yes? yes? Okay everyone listen on the last chorus we going to get this festival biggest ever pogo goin okay? Do you know wat the pogo is? It was invented by the the caveman, the first ever dance, ever. And it was invented about, i dunno, 25 million years ago, maybe 100 million years ago. It's really simple, u just jump right up like tis. Alrite. I think you can manage that. How you all doin up in the veranda!? Hello? Hello? Ya, they're now not listening ya. Get into the party. Okay, on the final chorus, do we have a deal everyone? Yes? Okay, okay, okay. And all the people sitting at the back on ur asses, get up pls, Tis is the last song and it's easy. Okay on the last chorus, I will give u the signal. 1, ..."

"I cant sleep tonight,
Everybody saying everythings alright,
Still I cant close my eyes,
Im seeing a tunnel at the end of all these lights,
Sunny days, (Hold on)
Where have you gone?,
I get the strangest feeling you belong..."

The pandora box has just been opened...

"Why does it always rain on me?
Is it because I lied when I was seventeen?"

I felt a hand slung on my shoulder, it belongs to the stranger dude standing next to me who is already doin da pogo with the rest of the crowd. I'm tired, hot, leg's ache like hell and my mom taught me never to take candy from a stranger... Watever... I slung my hand around his shoulder and join in the madness.

"Why does it always rain on me?
Even when the sun is shining,
I cant avoid the lightning
Oh, where did the blue skies go?
And why is it raining so?
Its so cold"

My body, mind and soul is already dulled. Dulled by this sensation that fills this park, jumping and singing together with Travis and all the people here in this crowd.

"(Only one more),

Why does it always rain on me?
Is it because I lied when I was seventeen?
Why does it always rain on me?
Even when the sun is shining
I cant avoid the lightning
Why does it always rain on me?
Why does it always rain..."

The crowds starts to applause, I high five the stranger beside me and try hard to stand straight with my aching foot... Okay, for those who are already lost, lets do abit of time travelling...

12 hours earlier...

As I walk pass into Fort Canning entrance with MFR, we are greeted by the sound of loud guitar playing (Okay, okay, besides the leng lui event promoters).

Like Dorothy, we followed the yellow brick road (aka sound of loud guitar). It's a small stage on our left, some band is already jamming infront of a small crowd. Local SG band. First thing we learnt on the event, it's hot. Really hot with the sun blazing on our back as we stand with the crowd to listen to the band rockin. First thing I learn bout this event meanwhile is standing so front while the band is rocking is enuff to produce enuff heart pounding sound that pumps your heart up.

We started to look for the main stage, but the entrance to is still closed with tons of ppl already line up. Figures, still around 2.30 pm onli. With the weather so freakin hot, we decided to get some water supply. We walked around the festival village, alot of leng lui promoters especially at the beer booth. MFR wanted to drink beer but with a small cup costing around SGD10 (x 2.4 = Rm24!), we settle for mineral water. We decided to pass time listening and seeing (leng lui) at the 2nd stage (local band stage) till the main stage is open. Around 3+ pm, the main stage is opens. People started pouring into the main stage... Since it was freaking hot, MFR and me made our way to the back of the stage, where there's shade. Luckily, the stage was at the bottom of a hill slop, hence we even see the stage from the back. After awhile, the guitar starts to play and our opening act of the day...

Dearest

Men In White. Can't remember much cept bassist scaling the side of the stage and rocking from 4m of the ground.

Crowned King

As, MFR said. Tis bands rocks better than the guys in white. Notable stuff bout tis band is the dude with the big trumpet. Awesome...

Melanie Subono

Indo or Fili singer, only female singer that was on da days menu. Tried the gal power gag on the females in the crowd, sadly little response. Tried to get one of the gals to sing with her but no one volunteer (probably no one knows tat song). Lucky got one guy in the crowd help her out, seems to know tat song. Notable stuff is her rock version of "Yesterday" dun really register with my taste, she sung it with such happy note for such depressing song.

We went for a breather here (Around 5.30pm) , to fill our stomach coz we plan to stand infront with the mob when we get back to ensure we get nice spot when Travis performs (Expected performance time is 10.30pm). A SGD12 meal for each of us, for mineral water and kebab. More and more people are pouring from the entrance. Sadly not much people in the 2nd stage.

New Found Glory

When we went back and joined the standing mob in front of the stage, a crowd audience was already invited by tis band to rock with em on one song. Incredibly he can even play the guitar with em. If I had any regret that day, it would be coming late for this band. Tis is probably the most rocking band that got the crowd rocking with em. I tell u, it's crazy! There were giant balls, water containers, sunglasses, underwear and even a bra (really!) being toss here and there during their gig. The band members were even playfully enuff that, the lead singer wore the underwear like a cap and the fat bassist wore the sunglasses during performance. Then someone threw a bra onstage, the lead singer threw the bra back into the crowd and feeding of the energy tis band was emitting, the bra was flying here and there in the crowd. *Pure Crack* I tell u. Also, notable stuff, the dude on the electric piano looks like Triple H (LOL). This band really rocking with their rocking songs, but their cover of "Iris" and "Kiss Me" was simply f*ckin awesome rockin and I'm sure the crowd present that day would agree.

Tabik... especially the f*ckin cool fatass on the bass...

Melee

Chris (aka MFR) stated Chris (lead singer of tis band) looks too lala with the kwai chai clothes. Never judge a rocker by it's clothes! Rick (aka muscles, the electric guitar dude) even thought of a new national anthem for Singapore.

Singapore New National Anthem

Gotta hand it to em, really rockin...

Levis Runaway Show
WTF!? Suddenly a fashion show on Levis Jeans. Anyway odd thing during the performance as stated by one of the announcers, when the male models strip down their t-shirt exposing their body, many females among the crowd scream but some male also scream... Bizzare!

Lostprophets

Dun really dig this band rock song. Only can say the lead singer like MFR said "Charismatic". Really got the young crowd frenzied with their performance.

Simple Plan

Another young crowd favourite band. Kinda like a few of the more depressing themed songs like "Perfect" and "Welcome to my life".

Dun believe the young lala crowd is frenzied by this band? A pix tell a thousand words, but a video in youtube tells everything...

Travis

It was around 10.45pm when it finally reached Travis turn to rock. Alot of the crowd have left since last act, since probably the young ones need to go home and came for the earlier 2 bands. Anyway the crowd had to wait quite some time as Travis crew setup the stage and equipments. Seems Travis wanted his crew to ensure the quality of the sound was up to mark since the earlier bands had some sound problems. Unfortunately some of the crowd got impatient and yelled up some really harsh words. Shame on you guys. This incident however was drown into the cheers as the Travis band members made their way into the stage. Despite some minor issue (like guitar string putus, sound problem, etc), Travis rocked us with a total of around 20 tracks (According to MFR). Some of the songs I really liked was "Sing", "Turn", "Driftwood" and "Writing to reach you".

However these 2 songs really left an impression in me.

Finally, the closing song... It's true when I said MFR traveled so far from Malaysia to Singapore for this Singfest event just to listen to Travis. But for me whom aint' a 100% pure Travis fan, I came just to hear tis particular song...

A fitting way to end Travis act as well as Singfest 2008 Day 1. Only complaint here is it didn't really rain...

So tat's all for Singest 2008 Day 1, I had a f*ckin awesome rockin time and really enjoyed it...

Tis is Rockawan Bakau signing off, May "The Rock" be with ya...

Next entry teaser...

(Note: All pix been ripped from urbanwire.com since I refused to used MFR photos since it would be injustice to use to describe the Singfest event)
