Anime marathon

Dear bloggie,

Already overspent abit tis month, will live like a monk for the next 2 weeks.

Anyway, I decided to do anime marathon seeing it been along time since I done one. I will be watching my personal favourite non-action anime "Honey & Clover" Season 1 and 2. Everytime I watch tis anime, I get the "being youth" vibes & always get the urge to try doing something artistic and creative instead of staring into this dull monitor screen.

Sometimes I wondered what if I really did take a random journey on a bike up north like Takemoto (Just a metaphor, I can't cycle), how far can I journey? What kinda people will I meet on the journey? What kinda places I would pass by? What kinda sights would grace my sights? What kinda cold feeling I would get braving the rain cycling? What kinda sweaty feeling I would get cycling under the hot sunny sun? How strong is my determination to continue cycling north despite not knowing the end of my destination? How much will I changed upon coming back from such journey?

Overtrain

Dear bloggie,

I been trying harder to push my body to the limit lately, hence I devise a quite rigorous workout schedule (For a beginner standard la). After just 1 week of implementation, I found a decrease in performance during workout, hence I come to the conclusion that I have over trained. It's hard really, to find a balance between over training and under training in order to get the maximum amount of progress. I find myself falling under the former due to impatience, loading the workout with perhaps too much exercises.

Funny really, since before I was training at a moderate level, I failed to get sore after the workout (except for pull ups) so I ram it up. After ramming it up, I get sore after workout but seems like after a few sessions, my muscle seem to have fatigue. So I have revised my workout and have simplify the workout so I dun overdo it.

As for progress, I think I made some progress. The number of reps I can do "real" push ups have stabilize to the range 8 x 3, as for abs crunch 30+ x 3 (With 5 kg weights), pull ups have started to shape up where I progress from 1 to 3 and finally lunges, I still hate doing them as I think it's a rather boring exercise.

Philosophy at GYM

Dear bloggie,

Today while attending my BB class, an interesting philosophy discussion occured preclass. I cut the quite long discussion into a simple form.

"A friend of mine who is a doctor quit her career to become a full time housewife for her 4 sons/daughters."

The aunty thinks her fren decision is wrong based on the argument that her fren spent all those time studying to be a doctor only to give it up for her family. Other notable points were her fren also screw up the chance for others to be a doctor and a her fren as a doctor should be put priority at serving the peoples.

Some people in the class gave their opinion, but mostly I think is afraid to negate this aunty's opinion. Lucky no one ask me my opinion else I would say:

"Fark that! U do what u love and fark the rest."

MFR probably thinks I just saying it out loud in my blog, but when I really come the actual time I would pussy cat outta it. And frankly speaking, MFR knows me very well, too well actually... But honestly, I think such opinion is rather shallow, either that or my thinking itself is shallow. While it's hard to say if the aunty's fren make the correct decision or not, but the choice the aunty's fren made should one that we all come to respect, correct or wrong... After all it's she that has to live with consequence of her choice for the rest of her life, not us... We just be affected by it.

Kamen Rider W: Episode 1 & 2

Dear bloggie,

Wow... A great start for a Kamen Rider series.

Episode 1: Two Detectives in One

Toei kicks this series off with a rather explosive prologue. Really embeds the mysterious question of who or wtf is going on? And who can deny the moment of awesomeness when W stands in a sea of flames and his bug eye glow red with the scarf being blown by the wind, good Kamen Rider stuff. The story resumes with a more goofy and comedic tone (not as bad as Den O) as it introduces the main characters of this series. The hardboiled wannabe detective Shotaro, the enigmatic partner Philippe and the super high tone voice Akiko. The story then focuses on the detective job Shotaro accepted from his childhood fren Marina, whom is looking for his missing boyfren. After the detective fails to find the boyfren using the old skool detective methods, Shotaro gets Phillipe to uses the "Bookshelf of Earth" to find the location of the missing boyfren. Then we get our first W rumble with the Magma Dopant (Marina's boyfren). W showcase his Cyclone and Lunar abilities, which is quite cool (Cyclone gives him the wind power while Lunar allows him to stretch like Mr Fantastic). After the W Rider Kick (Pun intended), the baddies go down for the 3 count and before W could do the "Give it up, u lost, repent..." crap, Dino Headed Dopant suddenly pop ups and take a BIG BITE OUTTA the fallen Magma!? This episodes ends with W summoning his big bug eye monster truck. Have to say, pretty solid 1st episode. They even introduce the baddies bosses in this episode. Instill alot of questions on ur mind which makes u wanna continue seeing the series to know wtf is going on. Still, dun so like the CGI thing for W's monster truck, common just give W his bike more old skool action!

Episode 2: Those Who Make the City Grieve

For all the climax at the end of the end of episode 1 turns out to be a cock tease, which is really not that bad as it allows the insertion of the detective story of finding out who is the Dino Head Dopant. Some light detective work by Shotaro before again the "Bookshelf of Earth" solves the whole mystery. Nothing really shocking really the identity of Dino Head, but got some old skool detective touch I have to admit. I also like the confrontation between Shotaro and Phillipe on how to deal with the culprit, sorta shows these 2 characters have their own views and stands. Eventually a showdown between W and T-Rex Dopant (Dino Head), which quickly escalates into a CGI slugfest. While I dun so like the W's flying bike gag, I gotta give a thumbs up for the chase the giant T-Rex on bike action. Also W utilizes 2 more forms, Heat and Metal (Heat gives W some more fire into his punches while Metal gives W a staff weapon). Favorite part of this episode however was the Afro dude quoting "Oh Cute, Oh Beautiful, Unbelievable..." HAHAHA!!! Also another major baddie is showcase, a naked dude that henshins into ???

CALLUSES

Dear bloggie,

Argh! Damn, calluses forming on my palm. The sight of my 2 palms with white skin peeling off isn't a very beautiful sight to behold.

So long no problem (3-4 months), suddenly while doing my dumbbell, these suckers pop up outta da blue. I suspect my pull ups are the cause for these suckers. Now after doing RnD, it seem calluses on palm is quite common thing when u doing weight lifting. Tiu, why no one told me earlier one... Now onli I understand why ppl wear gloves during workout, I initially though they wear to look gaya onli one.

Now need fork out more $$$ to buy gloves... T_T

Very tight $ month, income partially in onli so far, so dun dare open knife in spending dept... Buy gloves de also I think the damage is done to my hand dunno can be undone ar not. I read online also got way to do without gloves, but need a dull knife & pumice stone. Just did it just now, manage to remove some dead skin off but I dun think I can stomach doing it every 2-3 weeks. Read about it here.

What's in your head?

Dear bloggie,

ZOMBIE!!!

Zombie - The Cranberries

Another head hangs lowly,
Child is slowly taken.
And the violence caused such silence,
Who are we mistaken?

But you see, it's not me, it's not my family.
In your head, in your head they are fighting,
With their tanks and their bombs,
And their bombs and their guns.
In your head, in your head, they are crying...

In your head, in your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie,
Hey, hey, hey. What's in your head,
In your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie?
Hey, hey, hey, hey, oh, dou, dou, dou, dou, dou...

Another mother's breakin',
Heart is taking over.
When the vi'lence causes silence,
We must be mistaken.

It's the same old theme since nineteen-sixteen.
In your head, in your head they're still fighting,
With their tanks and their bombs,
And their bombs and their guns.
In your head, in your head, they are dying...

In your head, in your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie,
Hey, hey, hey. What's in your head,
In your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie?
Hey, hey, hey, hey, oh, oh, oh,
Oh, oh, oh, oh, hey, oh, ya, ya-a...

Super duper f*ckin ROXOR performance...

New Shiny Set of...

Dear bloggie,

New toy for this lonely month of Sept,

[Drums roll]

Tada...

Been hunting several places for a dumbbell for weeks to replace my ancient 5kg ones. Ended up buying these bella from Fitness Concept at RM 199 (Highly overpriced I know since my buddies got one for onli RM 70 during promotion). Had a hard time and was teetering between buying a cheap knock off dumbbells or one expensive but shiny ones. Since most cheap dumbbells I seen in hypermarkets, had some criteria that I dislike in a dumbbell such as metal handle and inconsistent weight plate hole size (From what I heard), I ended up throwing my chips under Fitness Concept.

These adjustable weights bella have a non-metal handle for a more comfortable grip (me likely like) and the weights plates that are rubberized. Each weighting 10kg, it will probably last me a couple of years before I need upgrade it (I hope need upgrade faster).

Pickup Line

Dear bloggie,

"Would you like to dance?"
"Hello, my name is XXX, what’s yours?"
"Don’t you find this place…?"
"Would you like an escort to your…"
"I just thought you should know that you have a really nice…"

F*CK ALL THESE SHITTY PICKUP LINES.

Tis is one of the best pickup line EVER...

"Think of it like this: jump ahead, ten, twenty years, okay, and you're married. Only your marriage doesn't have that same energy that it used to have, y'know. You start to blame your husband. You start to think about all those guys you've met in your life and what might have happened if you'd picked up with one of them, right? Well, I'm one of those guys. That's me y'know, so think of this as time travel, from then, to now, to find out what you're missing out on. See, what this really could be is a gigantic favor to both you and your future husband to find out that you're not missing out on anything. I'm just as big a loser as he is, totally unmotivated, totally boring, and, uh, you made the right choice, and you're really happy." - Jesse, Before Sunrise 1995.

Rewatched the whole Before Sunrise movie, this movie falls under the category of those movie that is always refreshing to watch after u didn't watch it for some time. Just Delpy in love with it...

Bakau@Cooking, Zaru Soba

Dear bloggie,

Surprisingly easy to make tis dish. Zaru which means Bamboo and Soba is buckwheat noodles, hence combine Zaru Soba, u get Bamboo buckwheat noodles. However I can't find a bamboo plate, so had to settle to normal plate.

Just dump in the soba into boiling water for around 5 minutes, pour all the water out and rinse the soba in cold water. Then for dipping sauce, just pour some of the ready made sauce into a bowl/cup/watever and add some water.

Visually, I think I managed to dish up a pretty good zaru soba. However I screwed up in preparing the dipping sauce, too much water. The noodles also not cold enuff since I just put ice cubes on it, next time will try put in freezer see how taste.

New Kamen Rider

Dear bloggie,

Just watched the RAW for this season's new Kamen Rider.

In another alternate world where the world is powered by windmills, mysterious monsters so called Duhpants suddenly starts terrorizing and the police are powerless to stop em. 2 Man, Shotaro & Phillip battles this menace by activating their "sticks" and combine to become... Tada...

"Kamen Rider HOMO"

Okok, jokes asides... The new kamen rider is so called Kamen Rider Double, since it actually took 2 people to henshin into it. The pilot episode was pretty good, climatic 1st henshin, nice tempo and etc. Alot of question marks were raised and no doubt they will be answered throughout the series. The heroes this time is Shotaro, a sorta apprentice detective that just got promoted to the big player rank because his mentor dies on him on the prologue and Phillip, a mysterious guy that Shotaro and his mentor saved in the prologue. The Kamen Rider Double design looks quite good in my book despite the radical split colors but just gotta love the red bug eyes and scarf. The gimmick for this rider is that it can changes form by swapping USB sticks (U heard correct, USB...). Seems like each form got their own ability, so far shown 3 USB, Joker, Cyclone & Lunar. Cyclone seem to give the rider the wind power while Lunar gives the rider Mr Fantastic powers. Joker don't show any special power but instead is used for their "Memory Break" (Limit Break la), Joker Extreme, a old school rider kick with a twist the rider split into 2 riders. Only complain so far is the lack of babes, god dammit!

The strong guy, the fat guy, the genius

Dear bloggie,

Hahahahaha....

The strong guy, the fat guy, the genius,
Got gave special gift at birth,
They break it, they eat it, they solve it,
That's the reason they were put on this earth.

One's strong, one's fat, one's a genius,
There's nothing they can break, eat or don't know,
Nobody sure where they came from,
Nobody sure where they might go.

The strong guy, the fat guy, the genius,
Got gave special gift at birth,
They break it, they eat it, they solve it.
That's the reason they were put on this earth.

September

Dear bloggie,

Time does fly doesn't it? Sept already... For me I always visualize September as a rainy month... Dunno why I have such conception... Well, in conjunction with this rainy month, here's a Sept song...

Wake Me Up When September Ends - Green Day

Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
wake me up when September ends

like my father's come to pass
seven years has gone so fast
wake me up when September ends

here comes the rain again
falling from the stars
drenched in my pain again
becoming who we are

as my memory rests
but never forgets what I lost
wake me up when September ends

summer has come and passed
the innocent can never last
wake me up when September ends

ring out the bells again
like we did when spring began
wake me up when September ends

here comes the rain again
falling from the stars
drenched in my pain again
becoming who we are

as my memory rests
but never forgets what I lost
wake me up when September ends

Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
wake me up when September ends

like my father's come to pass
twenty years has gone so fast
wake me up when September ends
wake me up when September ends
wake me up when September ends

Sore Loser

Dear bloggie,

As u already know, I bought a chinup bar from Kettler and sadly it failed the "Rockawan Test" having failed to support my weight of 61kg (no screw it). Sadly, this chinup bar wasn't the only thing that failed the "Rockawan Test".

Yesterday went to Taman Rakyat todo some pull ups on the rusty pull up bar there. Was drizzling a bit when I reached there, perfect weather(for me) for an exercise session. Warm up by jogging to the pull up bar, then tested out my new lifting straps on the bar.

My lats... I put their name to the test.

After only performing 1 pull up, my hands and lats totally gone karput...

My lats... they fail the "Rockawan's Test". And a man who fancies himself a godlike monk feels a very human chill/sore crawl up his spine...

So what did I do, I resorted to negative pull ups instead. Since there wasn't any thing there I could use to help me evaluate myself to the bar, I did a slow jump to get myself up and slowly with control come down. Really feel the effects on my lats and biceps. Managed 3 x 8 before my whole back and hand totally lost strength then jog 2 laps for cardio and cooldown.

On way back, while driving my left hand lost strength even to grip the steering wheel, had to use right hand to control. Today woke up with sore forearm, biceps and lats. Now still damn sore, hopefully will recover by tomolo. Want to challenge the pull up bar again tomolo.

Lifting Straps

Dear bloggie,

Yea, bought myself another sex gym toy. Tis time is the... Repeat after me... "Lifting Straps".

At this point, most ppl will have tis thought in their mind "WTF is a Lifting Straps!?"

Lifting straps are these babe here below:

Bought these babes for RM31. Okay, now the next question in most ppl mind right now is "What are they used for?"

Below is definitely some way NOT to use these straps...

Proper way is tis la:

These straps actually assist you in pulling weights especially if you have a bad grip like mine. For me, I'm primary bought tis straps to use on the pullup bars at Taman Rakyat since the bar abit too hard for me to grip.
