HxH 318

Dear bloggie,

I seen alot of manga... ALOT...

But the latest stunt Togashi pull in HxH 318... It's lazy, yet at the same time pure brilliance...

8 outta 15 pages for this chapter is nothing but blackness and dialog box... Talk about "super" lazy... The darkness represents Cell "The King" that already lost his sight due to the poison that infected him. The repeated use of "Are you there?" across this 8 pages expresses "The King" feeling towards Komugi as he knows his end is near.

"The King", a chimera ant born as the pinnacle of all beings... To stand and rule above all being... A tyrant that tramples at everything... Yet he forms an unlikely attachment towards a normal blind human gal named Komugi. He bested the best fighters tat the human race send to assassinate him, and even endured a Rose (Sorta like Atom bomb). But at last, fall towards the poison in the "Rose".

Perhaps a fitting end for this f*cked up Chimera Ant arc for HxH...

ESG Explosion

Dear bloggie,

As u all probably have heard, ESG went kaboom... I find it hard to believe I was there just 6-7 hours before the incident. Luckily no one was really hurt, but the thought of if the gas leaked just 6-7 earlier, I wonder wat fate await me when I was innocently sipping my cup of coffee.

Anyway, kinda "odd"... ESG will probably be closed for quite sometime for repairs... And I just happened to get to visit it one last time before it's hiatus...

Espresso bar & bake shop

Dear bloggie,

Yea, you can see the title above...

When I saw "Espresso bar & bake shop", I was like WTF!?

Where I saw tis u ask? At a small tiny shop in Empire Gallery called "Whisk".

I finally had a coffee break there today, after for quite sometime wanted to satisfy my caffeine addiction there but always no place seat one.

This tiny "espresso bar" is located before the supermarket section at the G floor. A rather small shop, with rather limited seats (Think got 4 small & 1 long table inside + 1 medium table outside). I have heard rave reviews from blogs about the cakes here, so I been gunning to at least try it once.

And I wasn't disappointed. The Hummingbird cake (aka Banana cake) was really good. The cake texture really taste different from those normal banana cake's I eaten... And the icing... *Drools*

Damaged my wallet RM11.90 for the rather big piece of cake and Rm7.50 for an Americano. I however have to admit, the cake is definitely worth the $$$. Next time, will tryout their famous Velvet cake & Macarons... Also their "old fashion" milkshake

In love again...

Dear bloggie,

"Have you ever heard a joke so many times you've forgotten why it's funny? And then you hear it again and suddenly it's new. You remember why you loved it in the first place - Will Bloom, Big Fish"

I think tis quote applies to a lot of things in life. For me, I find myself falling in love again... With Pilates...

It been a good 1/2 year since my regular pilates class got replaced due to lack of attendees. But recently, having rejoined a pilates class for a special replacement Pilates class on Merdeka... My former Pilates instructor ignited again my feeling for Pilates. I recalled why I loved it in the 1st place. The soreness around the stomach, hip and butt, the technique, the concentration...

Having lost my touch and sense due to lack of practice, I was determine to regain what is lost... my core strength. Not much option though, as even other branches of my gym wasn't offering Pilates class at the 6.30pm+ slot. The only viable option for me was a class in the Puchong branch. I decided to take a blind leap of faith by attending this class at a gym and instructor that was unfamiliar to me. No regret there, while the instructor was not as technical as my 1st sifu... her class was enjoyable. Today another old Pilates class reopen at my gym. I attended her class a few times before and her class is tough but I guess she was busy with other things so her class was temporary removed from the rooster. Her class today was as usual brutal, but I noticed one thing while I practice today. I'm not sure wat it is but I think it's "Passion". I can't remember the last time I feel so great when my abs is burning... 1/2 year ago, my mindset when I attended Pilates class was just to enjoy myself but today, I had tis desire to really push my body to the limit in Pilates. Perhaps it's inspiration derived from watching tis:

"In 10 sessions you'll feel the difference, in 20 sessions you'll see the difference, and in 30 sessions you'll have a different body."

Awesome...

Oren Charity Run 2011

Dear bloggie,

About 2 years ago, when I ran Centro run 2009, I clocked a 33 min for my 6K. Today I ran a awesome (Yea, yea, yea... Syok sendiri) 7K in 34 min 28 sec. Woohooo... Can you calculate the my improvement... Holy shit 34 - 33 = 1 min! Tat means, I ran the extra 1K in 1 min... Wahahaha... Anyway, jokes aside... I probably managed to improve my average pace to 5 min per km pace which I hope to be able to maintain for a 10K.

Overall, a rather flat route run. From wat the organizers said, got around 2200+ runners. Didn't see any familiar faces, most likely coz they run last week Run4It de.

For tis run, my actual target was 6 min perkm pace hence a 42 minutes finish time goal. With my shin pain resurfacing and with a recent shaky knee (Thx to my new addiction to Body Step), I didn't expect to be able to run a my max speed. Lucky tis time around, onli my shin sorta bother me, no shaky knee (Especially since I last nite stupidly gatal go join Body Step class some more).

My main goal for this race is to gauge my ability to maintain a fast pace in a short run. In tat aspect, I failed as I had to take 3 stops (around 1 min per stop) as I was unable to sustain tat pace. I started quite slow as a lot of traffic but I decided at around my 2nd Km, to turbo up instead of after the water station (Which is at the 1/2 way point). I ran like da wind... I dun think I ever ran so fast in a long distance run before... And nothing unexpected ran outta gas around the 3K+ mark. My ran went to holland after tat, my body already taking the toll of running the fast 2K, even running at my normal pace was difficult. I somehow still managed to complete the run with a f*cked up stamina. And when I stop my stopwatch, I was delighted to see I managed 34 mins. So happy... :)

My bubble however burst when the winners medal ceremony, the fastest runner time was a f*ckin fast 23 mins!!! That's like 11 minutes faster... And for onli a 7K race. By th gods of Maths, tat's a 23 / 7 = 3.3 min per km pace!!!! While I'm rather bummed at the CLEAR difference in ability, it's sorta makes me more committed to train harder.

As for organizer for this run, I can't say I seen nor have any complains I wanna b*tch about. No problem from start to end. Kudos...

Till the next run... Run on!!!

#Update: Discovered tat tis run is onli 6.3K... Sigh...

Captain Abu Raed

Dear bloggie,

Just watched tis movie a couple of hours ago...

Went to get my tickets for "Railways". Saw tis movie poster, so wat the heck... RM7 onli...

A first glance at this poster, one would make the assumption based on the kids and old man laughing, it's a jovial movie.... Don't be deceived by this poster... This scene in the poster is perhaps the only jovial part in the movie.

Bewarned, this ain't one of those typical Hollywood popcorn movie (Though I did watch this movie with a popcorn)... If I had to describe this movie, I would probably use the words "Realistic", "Human society", "The good and bad we human are capable of". Yes, it's a Jordan movie and I had to rely of the subtitles to understand the movie. Quite boring at some parts, I have to say due to the slow pace of this movie. But if you can endure the movie till the end, you will most likely like me be blown off by the mind blowing ending. While the ending ended in a positive note, I can't help but feel depressed at the mixture of good and evil climax scene.

A recommended watch for those that enjoy drama type movie and can endure some long boring scenes...
