Fear or laziness

Dear bloggie,

"There are two kinds of sufferers in this world: those who suffer from a lack of life, and those who suffer from an abundance of life. I always found myself in the 2nd category. When you come to think about it, almost all human behavior and activity is not essentially any different from animal behavior. The most advance technology and craftsmanship brings us at best up to super chimpanzee level. Actually the gap between say Plato and from the average human is greater than the gap between than that chimpanzee than the average human. The realm of real spirit, the true artist, the saint, the philosopher, is rarely achieved. Why so few? Why is world history an evolution not story of progress rather an endless infuedal additions of zeros? No greater value has been developed. Hell the Greeks 3,000 years ago were advance as we are. So what are these barriers that keep people from reaching anywhere from their real potential? The answer to that can be found in another question, and that's this: Which is the most universal human characteristic, fear or laziness?”

My favorite phrase from "Waking Life". I'd get inspired to do something crazy and bold every time I hear it.
