I been a vivid fan of manhua Ravages of Time (A loose adaption of Romance of the Three Kingdoms) lately. 2 opposing ideology that is very apparent in this manhua are:
The world is fulled with evil, and fighting it is like hitting a rock with an egg. Long term conflict only bring misery to the living. Instead, help the strongest reign over the conflict and after a speedy restoration, take over the reign. Momentary suffering in exchange for sooner happiness.
and
If you desire to stand, help other stand. If you desire success, help other obtain it. If a leader doesn't set the right example, how would his reign last? Conflict will arise again and the cycle repeats itself.
In short, does the end justify the means or izt the means justify the end. Izt ok to kill an innocent man if it could save the lives of thousands? Or izt ok to let thousands die becoz of one innocent man?
